I really got back into quilting towards the end of 2021, so now is when the finished quilts start to pile up because I actually decided to quilt a bunch of the tops I had made.

Log Cabin Quilt
60" 80"
No Name
This quilt top was pieced by my great grandma, and she didn't finish it before she moved into a nursing home. My mom was just starting to quilt so given all her fabric, including this top. At the time, she didn't feel confident enough to take it on so it sat. By the time I started quilting, I asked my mom if I could try finishing it. Since it had been sitting since sometime in the mid 1980s, I was given the go ahead. Before I could start quilting, I had to repair some of the blocks since the fabric just didn't make it sitting for so long. Because Nannie hand quilted all her quilts, I decided to do the same. The outer 2 rows have a cross hatch pattern to give the illusion of a border and the center is all quilted in baptist fans.

Jewel Box
Not quite a quilt, but a quilted duvet cover.
Not quite a quilt, but a quilted duvet cover.
88" x 88"
No name, UFO finish.
This was originally part of a mystery quilt but I didn't like the final layout so I ripped some seams and came up with something new after it sat in time out for almost 10 years.
46" x 61"
Jacob's Ladder, UFO finish
This one was made accurately, unlike my first try. The four patches and HSTs were a leader/ender project for years before I decided I just wanted it done. HSTs finish at 2" and the little squares were cut at 1.5"

Christmas Pineapple
If I were to do this over again, I would have picked more contrasting colors, I think it looks a little blah with the sage and grey blending, but I was given a box of Christmas fabric scraps and this was all included. This is one of the first quilts I've tried FMQ, though I used my walking foot for the border.
50" x 70"
Winter Stargazer
Stargazer pattern by Corrine Wells and many of the fabrics were scraps from the Jinglebirds collection that I was given. I would like to do this pattern again but totally scrappy.
48" x 63"
Log Cabin Quilt
One of the few I've made that is not scrappy at all, but I still had fun with it. I quilted it in purple thread using the serpentine stitch on my machine following the diagonal of the blocks. I think it added amazing texture to the quilt.
50" x 70"
Carpenter's Star Wall Hanging
I asked what I could make for my parents, and my mom asked for a wall hanging to cover the breaker box in their new tiny home. She requested blue, burgundy, and yellow/gold.

PITA Quilt
This quilt really was a pain in the you know what to make. It probably didn't help that I decided to use smaller bricks than the pattern called for so I had to make some extension strips on the top and bottom since I was out of white bricks (and honestly was ready for this one to be done). My biggest problem with this quilt was after I had all the bricks cut out, the pattern simply said, "sew like the picture". So I essentially wrote myself a pattern so I could be a little more straight forward. It's now the quilt that lives in my car in case I need one. But I love how the back came out!

Springtime in Chilhowie
My first mystery quilt that I've followed through with! This was the 2022 Quiltville Mystery quilt and I changed the colors to use what I had and only made it half size. I oopsed when piecing extra border units so I had to change it up after the reveal to use what I had because those dusty pinks are not popular anymore and I couldn't find anything to match. I also changed up the sashing to add more stars and I couldn't be happier.
60" x 60"
Layer Cake Loop
A super quick quilt I made in a weekend for someone about to start chemo. I don't think I followed the pattern exactly, but just took a layer cake and cut it into 4 pieces and mixed and matched them. Quilted with loops.
45" x 54"
Play Date
A self drafted pattern to use up an overflowing box of Christmas scraps (still close to overflowing). It also ended up a lot bigger than I was planning. The original plan was a quilt big enough to go on my bed. I got a little carried away making blocks and then I didn't like them next to each other so I needed sashing which added another 11-12" inches plus a border. Hand quilted alternating red and green thread in each block, and it only took 3.5 months to quilt. I absolutely love the back of this quilt but somehow can't seem to bring myself to put it wrong side up.
89" x 101"
Another self drafted pattern that I had so much fun playing with. It was fun using black as a background.
49" x 65"
Fall Wall Hanging
18" x 20"
Scrappy Irish Chain
Used one consistent fabric for the inside of the chains, but the rest came from my 2.5" scrap squares. I used plush velvet for the backing, which while it came out super cozy, it's quite heavy.
80" x 90"
Box Kites
Pattern by Bonnie Hunter. Since I used a jelly roll, it's not as big as the pattern which made figuring out the border a bit of a pain (why do I do this to myself?). I lost a few points in the border, but it has wonderful fall vibes to it.
55" x 72"
Maymont
Pattern by Bonnie Hunter. Made using my overflowing box of 2" strips which is still overflowing. First time making an on point quilt.
77" x 90"
Garlic Knots
Block by Bonnie Hunter.
35" x 35"
No Name
28" x 37"
Triple Irish Chain
33" x 33"
Star of Hope
Pattern by Bonnie Hunter. (Sense a fan girl here yet?). I used a different alternate block than her original pattern because I don't enjoy paper piecing. Donated to local Jewish Family Services.
48" x 48"
Log Cabin
Made with 1.5" strips. That bin is still overflowing as well. Quilting lines are actually straight, it's just blowing in the breeze.
77" x 77"
Christmas Tree Skirt
A mini tree skirt for my tabletop tree.
19" from flat side to flat side
Rail Fence
First time using a striped binding. I'll need to do that more often.
40" x 40"
2024
Grandmother's Flower Garden
Entirely done by hand. Started piecing the hexagons on August 8, 2011 and finally finished quilting and binding it on January 26, 2024. Even the backing fabric is hand pieced. And I will admit, this quilt sat rolled up in my closet for at least half of the 12.5 years I worked on it.
92" x 112"
A personal design, hexagons were pieced by hand and appliqued onto machine sewn background squares. Hand quilted.
45" x 54"
Evergreen Way
The 2023 Quiltville Mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter. Again, I made it half size and changed up the colors, but didn't alter the pattern this year.
56" x 56"
Stars & Stripes Wall Hanging
Mosaic Star pattern turned into a wall hanging.
21" x 21"
Toy Trucks
Drafted from a quilt my mom made my brother when he was a little kid.
35" x 40"
From book Let's Get Scrappy.
36" x 36"
Bee Wall Hanging
Block from Barnstar Sampler book by Shelly Cavana.
18" x 18"
Free pattern by Pat Sloan
41.5" x 51.5"
Pocket Change
Free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop
56" x 72"
Oh My Stars
Free pattern by Pat Sloan
41.5" x 51.5"
Play Date
Toddler sized version of the one I made a few years ago.
42" x 53"
Barnstar Sampler
Pattern by Shelley Cavana
88" x 100"
Economy Blocks
40" x 50"
Baking Day
Pattern by Shelley Cavana
16" x 44"
My own design. I love the illusion that the piecing creates. It appears as though there is curved piecing, but it is all a play on angles.
